Sheung Wan
Casa Iberica - The Ham Shop
A Spanish ham counter on Tai Ping Shan Street, sliced to order.
Notes
- A small shop on Tai Ping Shan Street, run for eight years by Alberto, who came from Barcelona. The point of it is Ibérico ham brought straight from Spain — marbled through, and nutty with it. The ham and cheese sandwich is the signature, bellota-grade jamón against Manchego in a crisp baguette; the tasting platter runs sixty-four-month bellota with chorizo and prize-winning Spanish cheese, under crystal bread baked that day. Cheese, wine and seafood tapas besides, and the prices stay reasonable.
