• Inside a pre-war tong lau on New Village Street in Tai Hang, more than a century old, given only the lightest renovation — the original wooden door was kept as it was. The name splices the German Sonne, sun, to CAD, the software interior designers draw in. It is less a café than a room for tasting hand-poured coffee: it sells little else, the beans are roasted by hand locally, and the brewing is siphon and pour-over. The owner also treats it as a place to talk about sustainability, and welcomes anyone who wants to. Eleven until six.
